Train as a Certified Reading Practitioner through Loftier Literacy Mission Institute - distance education, mentorship, practicum, and quality assurance.

Who this is for

A Certified Reading Practitioner may operate a business teaching students online or in‑office using the Loftier Literacy Reading Program. Many trainees come from helping professions and practical backgrounds.

  • Age 16+ with strong character and references
  • Willingness to obtain a police record check
  • Reading level of at least Grade 12
  • Comfort working patiently with learners of all ages
Course materials may include Christian content; teaching Christian content is not required for student rehabilitation sessions.

Timeline & mentorship

Many trainees complete certification in a few months, while others take longer depending on study pace and practicum access. Mentorship and in‑services support you while you learn and as you begin working with students.

10 learning units include
  • Dyslexia: history, current thought, types, and testing
  • Assessments: early reader through advanced (including visual factors)
  • Sound bank rehabilitation and the science behind it
  • Teaching the Loftier Literacy Reading Program (steps, cues, delivery)
  • Comprehensive lesson plans across grades
  • Vocabulary and comprehension instruction
  • Starting your business, FAQs, and reference materials
Certification requirements
  • Practicum assessed for quality assurance
  • Final exam (85% required for certification)
  • Ongoing in‑service support available after certification
Cost & support
Program tuition includes course materials, practicum, quality assurance examinations, and lifetime in‑service support on Zoom.
